Some types also include gypsum in it. Production of mushroom compost is a multi-step process. It is initiated by soaking bails of straw in water, which is then run through a chipper that refines it. The manure and gypsum are blended together before straw is added. Hot compost piles are used to place this mixture in them. They are then turned and watered regularly.
